About the Item
This is a set of six Plia Folding Chairs, originally designed by Giancarlo Piretti in 1967. The examples were manufacturered by Anonima Castelli, distributed in the US by Krueger, and date to the 1970s. The chairs are comprised of a chromed steel frame with a clear lucite seat and back. The listed price includes all six chairs to be sold together as a set.
Each chair measures 18.75 inches deep, 18.78 inches wide, and 29.25 inches high with a seat height of 17.5 inches. These pieces do show wear from previous use, including patina on the frames and light scratches on the lucite. Overall, the chairs are in good vintage condition. Please see photos.

Giancarlo Piretti
Giancarlo Piretti was born in Bologna, Italy, in 1940. He attended art schools there and subsequently taught Interior Design. During that time, he was also designing furniture for Anonima Castelli. He has won numerous awards and has items in many museums, including MoMA, New York. He still lives and works in Bologna with his son, designer Alessandro Piretti.
