Spanish, early to mid 19th century. A very attractive antique Spanish side chair with gilt wood finials, carved skirt rail and upholstered with a gray mohair fabric back and seat. Measures: 34.125" h x 15.5" w x 13.5" d with a seat height of 17.375".

Featuring an impressive swirled top rail, scalloped butterfly effect to the upper splat adorned with paint painted and inlaid exotic foliage. The main back supports a finely detailed Grecian warrior against an ebony background. Sturdy walnut arms are supported by hand carved, gilded and ebonized figural lady sphinxes.
