About the Item

American, early 20th century. Offered is a truly spectacular example of American Art Nouveau furniture. The epitome of quality is showcased with a meticulously hand carved peacock to the back of the chair, from the cocked neck to the double layered feathers surrounding the edge, tons of defined feathers on body and life like carving to the legs and feet. All resting on a pair of hand turned wood legs, accented by a swirl design splat and supported on a pair of casters to the front legs. An original needlepoint seat is affixed (can be removed and replaced, currently screwed into the seat). Unmarked and unidentified maker.
