About the Item
A refined pair of French Louis XVI style side chairs sourced in Paris, dating to the early 20th century. Each chair features a classic square back with molded framing, fluted tapering legs, and carved rosette corner blocks, all hallmarks of the Louis XVI neoclassical canon. The frames retain a softly aged painted finish with warm undertones and natural patina, highlighting the carved details and linear fluting throughout. Minor rubbing and surface variation are consistent with age and contribute to the chairs’ authentic character. The chairs have been structurally revised in our design studio and are solid and stable for daily use. They have been newly reupholstered in a rich blue mohair, finished with decorative hand-applied brass nailhead trim along the seat and back. Tailored proportions and generous seat depth make this pair well suited for dining, desk, or accent use in both traditional and transitional interiors.
