About the Item
A refined pair of French Louis XVI style side chairs sourced in Paris, dating to the early 20th century. Each chair features a classic rectilinear back with molded framing, fluted tapering legs, and carved rosette corner blocks, all hallmarks of the Louis XVI neoclassical canon. The frames retain a softly aged painted finish with warm undertones and natural patina, highlighting the carved details and linear fluting throughout. Intentional wear, minor rubs, and surface variation are consistent with age and contribute to the chairs’ authentic character. The chairs have been structurally revised in our design studio and are solid and stable for daily use. They have been newly upholstered in a luxurious geometric cut velvet by Stout Textiles in a muted green tone. The fabric features a subtle vertical and horizontal repeat that adds depth and texture while remaining elegant and restrained. Upholstery is finished with hand-applied decorative nailhead trim along the seat and back. Tailored proportions and generous seat depth make these chairs well suited for dining, desk, or accent use in both traditional and transitional interiors.
