We are delighted to offer this lovely antique hand carved throne chair with embossed hand painted coat of arms to the back and Knights helmet to the top
What a chair! This is a fine piece of art furniture of ever I saw one. The frame is ornately carved with Jacobean elements, the top as you can see has a knight’s jousting helmet and shoulders which wrap around a shield with leather embossed coat of arms that has been hand painted, you then have the original painted and embossed seat pad, it looks to be polychrome paint, followed by two carved mythical looking heads at the top of the legs, the feet are lions hair paw, its all very 1600-1700’s in style
The condition is good for the age, there are some old repairs, distressed areas to the leather seat pad and so on, it is perfectly stable and looks amazing in any setting
