About the Item
A fabulous pair of 19th Century oak hall chairs of superb quality and finely hand carved with gorgeously rich patination and grain. The well figured shaped, panelled and pierced shield back with beautiful motif detail comprising of a striking arrangement of c-scroll motif detail to the central reserve, finely carved in high relief. Raised over moulded and shaped serpentine seat with canted corners above fluted apron, supported on outswept legs to the rear and elegantly, tapering cabriole legs to the fore with stunning acanthus leaf and scroll motif detail on knee, terminating on whorl foot.
