We are delighted to offer for sale this lovely suite of original circa 1810-1820 Regency bergere ebonised with mother of pearl inlay side chairs
A very good looking well made and decorative suite of chairs. In truth, I have never seen a suite of four before, they usually turn up as singles and are rare survivors. This suite has lovely mother of pearl inlay, some great gold leaf painting and the original ebonised finish. The seats are early rattan, three are still very tight, one has some sagging with age
Condition wise is period correct, there are some light age and use related patina marks here and there as you would expect, they are just over 200 years old

Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of creasing and wear, we recommend annual waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
