About the Item

These chairs, remarkable for their form, their cantilevered arms, and the material used in their execution -- cast aluminum -- were designed by Henri-Albert Kahn. Very few are known to have survived. The upholstery closely replicates the original. Unusually, they may be folded flat for easy storage. Kahn was a much sought-after furniture maker of the thirties, but his life, along with that of his wife Hélène's, was tragically cut short by Nazi persecution.
