About the Item

This eighteenth century French walnut side chair is constructed of hand pegged mortice and tenon joinery and features a hand carved apron. The chair rests on hand turned legs joined by turned supports that provide stability. Upholstered in tapestry and finished with nail head trim, this piece would be ideal as a desk chair. c. 1780. 18" H floor to seat.
