Vintage Midcentury Modern Italian Design "PLONA" Easy Chair by Giancarlo Piretti for Castelli. Made in Italy, 1970's period. Marked on the bottom base. Smoke acrylic seat folding side chair with aluminum frame. This comes in good condition with normal signs of wear from it's use and age. Measures 74cm x 68cm x 53cm. Seat height measures 43cm.

Giancarlo Piretti
Giancarlo Piretti was born in Bologna, Italy, in 1940. He attended art schools there and subsequently taught Interior Design. During that time, he was also designing furniture for Anonima Castelli. He has won numerous awards and has items in many museums, including MoMA, New York. He still lives and works in Bologna with his son, designer Alessandro Piretti.
