Charming Mini Brutalist solid oak fireside chair in the style of renowned French designer Pierre Chapo. This small-scale accent chair features a bold yet refined silhouette, crafted entirely from solid oak with visible joinery and reverse tapered legs. The slender, sculptural backrest includes a distinctive cut-out detail.
Originally intended for use beside the hearth, this compact chair served both practical and social functions—ideal for tending to the fire or cooking while seated. Its rustic character, minimalist lines, and artisanal construction are reminiscent of Chapo’s celebrated work, which blended Brutalist forms with honest materials and fine craftsmanship.
The chair is in original vintage condition, with a beautifully aged patina and wear consistent with its age and use. Lovely to warm up modernist spaces, and add some Wabi-Sabi. Use it as a decorative side chair, hallway accent, fireside companion or child's chair.
