We are delighted to offer for sale this very old and original Spanish high back carved occasional chair An ornately carved and decorated original chair. The leather upholstery is period, heavily distressed with horse hair padding. The frame is ebonised and the original paint is present and heavily distressed This is a period patina chair, it is all about originality Dimensions: Height 108.5cm Width 48cm Depth 46cm Seat height 48cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point This item is available for collection from our Wimbledon warehouses Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.

19th Century French Napoleon III Period Rosewood salon chair is an elegant example of Fine French craftsmanship using exotic imported wood from the Americas. Sometimes called Kingwood, rosewood is known for its natural beauty, color, hardness, and ability to last for eons. This example combines elements of the Louis Philippe form with accents from the Louis XVI style, with a graceful shield-shaped seatback carved with flowing ribbon at the top of the arched crown.
