About the Item

Rooted in their Norwegian design ethos and use of natural materials, Torbjørn Anderssen Espen Voll embarked on a journey to create a light and comfortable wooden chair that seamlessly marries traditional craft with a contemporary and fresh presence. Made from a combination of solid wood, laminated parts and oak plywood, Allwood demonstrates a variety of techniques that exemplify their commitment to quality and the material. Dimensions W: 48.4 cm/19 inch, D: 53.5 cm/21 inch, H: 80.6 cm/32 inch Seat H: 46.6 cm/18 inch Seat D: 43 cm/17 inch Weight 4.8 kg Stacking quantity 12 Product Material Frame is made from solid oak. Seat and back panels are made from oak veneer with clear water-based lacquer. This product has not been treated with any biocides. Production Process The veneered seat and back rest are made by form pressing thin layers of wood veneer together in an Aluminium press and cut to size. The solid wood frame is made using CNC milling machines. Chairs are sanded and treated with clear water-based lacquer. Finishes Clear Lacquered Oak Designer Anderssen Voll Based in Oslo, partners Torbjørn Anderssen and Espen Voll have been instrumental in putting Norway on the global design map ever since they joined forces in 2009. Anderssen Voll have received numerous international awards for their work within furniture, lighting and home accessories, including the Wallpaper* Design Awards, the Red Dot and iF Awards, as well as other accolades for Best Designs and Best Designers of the year. And yet they approach each new project with a feeling of freedom. Rather than being defined by and confined to a specific way of being, Anderssen Voll prefer to be open. They develop emotionally-driven designs. Their overall desire is to create designs with souls. To animate something inanimate. “We’re not dogmatic about it,” say Anderssen and Voll. “We’re quite open. We start designing and watch a piece take on its own personality. It’s almost like breathing life into it.”
