About the Item
Designed by Jacob and Josef Kohn, these Art Nouveau period bentwood bistro chairs feature pressed wood seats and seat backs detailed with a classic symmetrical shell motif. The seats rest on gently curved legs joined by a circular support. The bottom of the seats are stamped J&J Kohn. The Kohn father and son duo were contemporaries of designer Thonet, who also specialized in bentwood furniture. Founding their enterprise in 1849, The Kohn design firm would become one of Thonet's leading competitors. Sold in pairs with three pairs available, these chairs are sure to bring the charm of cafe culture into any interior, circa 1900.
