About the Item

Outstanding pair of black late 19th century French Napoleon III side chairs with original upholstery in incredible condition. Artfully handcrafted in the period around 1870 in France, this set of two black side chairs impresses with its exceptional, delicate execution: just have a look at the beautifully carved front feet or the amazing designed backrest with all its small details like the open worked applications on the top center. The most amazing thing about these unique, antique chairs is the fact that both still provide the original upholstery with its thick luxurious floral-themed black/ beige fabric as well as the spring core underconstruction. What an extraordinary pair of late French 19th century Napoleon III side chairs.
