This rare pair of gold leaf finished Hollywood Regency chairs were purchased in old Bel Air, CA at the estate sale of a elderly movie mogul's home. They had rare back cushions. We lived the gold finish, but the solid creme wool fabric had seen better days. We wanted to pick a special fabric that did justice to the chairs that had lived in the living room of the estate as game chairs of a black and gold Empire chess table. The European zebra jacquard is European and cost $150 a yard. It has a metallic thread in it that gives it a little sparkle that compliments the chairs! The original finish has appeared to be touched up over the years in a very few places. Pics are new and show the good vintage condition.
Description:
A pair of vintage Chinese Chippendale style faux bamboo (wood) armchairs with custom zebra print upholstery. The frames feature a gold gilt finish, characteristic of the Hollywood Regency style.
