Vintage Midcentury Modern Design "PLONA" Leather Side / Desk Chair by Giancarlo Piretti for Castelli. Made in Italy, 1970's period. Black leather seat on aluminum folding base. This comes in all original, good condition with a nice patina to the leather and wear signs of it's use and age. Measures 71,5cm high x 68cm wide x 54cm deep. Seat height measures 44cm.

Giancarlo Piretti
Giancarlo Piretti was born in Bologna, Italy, in 1940. He attended art schools there and subsequently taught Interior Design. During that time, he was also designing furniture for Anonima Castelli. He has won numerous awards and has items in many museums, including MoMA, New York. He still lives and works in Bologna with his son, designer Alessandro Piretti.
