About the Item

A carved wooden chair from Belgium, circa 1900. An upright form with a simple seat and elegant backrest. Turned legs joined by a strut support a deep, curved apron. The slats of the backrest are carved into fluid lines; the top rises into a bell-shaped peak. Carved accents of scrolls and foliage stand out on the dark, softly polished wood. The subtle recline of the backrest lends a inviting note to this handsome piece.
