About the Item

A minimal and elegant pair of Italian vintage mid century modern, bedroom slipper chairs; Beautifully proportioned with a comfortable and seats and backrests, the chairs is supported on tapered wooden legs. The chairs are constructed in a solid wood structure and have been completely restored in our professional studio and are newly re-upholstered with refined oatmeal coloured French slub weave fabric. The chairs subtle curving lines are is accentuated by a contrasting piping of dark brown satin. The pair have been attributed to Gio Ponti, Italy, circa 1950. The simplicity of design coupled with the beautiful soft curves are hallmarks of Ponti's design style. While diminutive in size these chairs will make an impact on any interior they inhabit.
