About the Item
A modern take on the slipper chair. Built with a solid hard maple frame with a walnut stain finish on the exposed surfaces.
It has a tight seat and back and seat cushion made with 8-way hand tied springs supporting a comfortable dacron wrapped high density foam. Covered in a combination of cut velvets, the front is a colorful Osborne and Little Mansfield countryside pattern and the back a bold Romo solid turquoise. Trim is a yellow faux mink. Customization with size adjustments and fabric is available upon request. Ask for current availability of chairs as shown.

Made to order by Connecticut-based furniture design and manufacturing company The Tailored Home. Submit your customization desires by 1stdibs messenger for a quote. After orders are placed our workshop manager creates a visual work order for your approval for quality assurance.

The fabric shown may come in more colors. We also carry thousands of other materials and can send you samples and fabric pricing upon request. We accept your fabric for a COM fee of 5% of the cost of the piece. Welting, piping, tape, or trim can be added. Different species are available for pieces with exposed wood and can be painted
lacquered in any Benjamin Moore color (for an additional charge) or stained in one of our stain options. Custom color matches cost $75 per sample.

The Tailored Home
The Tailored Home reinvents traditional furniture designs with playful upholstery and energetic colors. Venezuelan-born furniture designer Jhon Ortiz and his life and business partner, Scott Falciglia, cofounded The Tailored Home to make custom furniture for a changing society.
A veteran of retail and the textile industry, Oritz studied design in Paris, Milan and Connecticut at Fairfield University. Falciglia graduated with a degree in international business from Fairfield University. He met Ortiz in 2012 after 12 years in finance.
Combining their talents, the pair initially established The Tailored Home in a basement workshop in Greenwich, Connecticut, in 2014. They share responsibilities for design and management to create a company as dynamic and adaptable as their design philosophy.
From the beginning, they have focused on contemporary needs for furnishings, considering how people frequently move and reinvent themselves through new careers and living locations. The Tailored Room is all about individuality, whether that is a customized ottoman or a funky sofa right off the showroom floor. As embodied by these pieces, change is something to intentionally seek out, embrace and experience as a way to cultivate growth.
