About the Item

An original lounge / club chair with rarely seen ottoman, originally design in 1971 by Charles Pfister for Knoll. Elegant lines, beautifully proportioned with a minimal footprint, a true modern classic. Chair shown has down back cushions, possibly original off white fabric, that is showing its age. Some sun fading, stains etc. If perfection is sought, plan to recover. Look at my other listing for the matching sofa. Ottoman 28" square x 16" h. Attached cushion Incredible provenance : From the Home of Ronald Jan Greenberg - St. Louis. Ronnie is and was one of the top Gallery owners in the third quarter of the 20th Century. Greenberg Gallery. Ronald K. Greenberg opened The Greenberg Gallery in 1972 in Clayton, Missouri. One of St. Louis’ first contemporary art galleries, The Greenberg Gallery brought to the Midwest some of the most respected and influential contemporary artists in the art world. In 1978 the gallery moved to 44 Maryland Plaza in St. Louis’ Central West End. He entertained some of the most influential artist of the 70' and 80' at his home. I know Andy Warhol was there, did he sit on the Chair?
