About the Item

A late 19th century 2 seater country house chesterfield sofa by C. J. Lawrence - Southsea. c1890 Retaining its original soft and purposefully loose horsehair buttoned upholstery. Raised on turned walnut front legs with the original large Copes brass casters. The seat retains its original webbings and springs. It is soft at the sides due to years of use and would benefit with some attention. A good quality sofa of nice form and remarkably well preserved throughout. As with all our upholstered seating we do offer upholstery should you wish. 39cm seat height
