About the Item

A 19th century country house sofa by renowned cabinet makers and upholsterers Morison Co of Edinburgh Scotland Structurally in good solid order with tight joints. The upholstery is sofa and worn and ideally needs a new fitted seat. The arms and the back can be reworked. It retains its original under lining with the stamp "Morison Co upholders Edinburgh". The finely carved legs and arms are evidence of its quality. There are two small labels underneath that read "property of Mary E Skellington" Morison Co were at the forefront of Scottish furniture making, they received an order to fit out the first class accommodation of the Mauretania.
