This very rare and elegant Biedermeier cherry sofa was made in Vienna circa 1820-25.
Viennese Biedermeier pieces are distinguished by their sophisticated proportions, rare and refined design, excellent craftsmanship and continue to have a great influence on modern design.
The sofa has a lovely cherry veneer accentuated by a deep amber tone of french polish finish and 200 years old patina. It sits well and is very comfortable.
The upholstery beautifully emphasizes the warm amber shade of the cherry wood.
Many good pieces of contemporary furniture do not have the same innovative and sophisticated design as this 200 year old sofa. This only shows the great role that Biedermeier still has in the world of antiques.
These high quality Viennese Biedermeier sofa is very rare and difficult to find.
The piece will be a great complement to any elegant interior. It does not matter whether it is a classic or modern interior because Biedermeier is simply timeless.
