Antique Italian Baroque Figural Carved Walnut Curved Sofa with Women Nymph Caryatids, Cupid Cherub Figures and Hairy Paw Feet 19thC.
Measures - 40 1/2" x 110 1/4" x 40 1/2"
This antique Italian Baroque couch or sofa, dating back to the 19th century, is an exemplary specimen of fine master craftsmanship. Made from carved walnut and fruitwood, the piece features figural carvings that are characteristic of the Baroque style including partial nude female nymph caryatids, a central medallion with a nymph and cherubs in a countryside setting and raised on legs having cherubic medallions terminating in hairy paw feet.
