Burkhard Vogtherr for Rosenthal, model 'Vario Pillo', modular sofa, Germany, 1970s
This exuberant buildable sofa is designed by Burkhard Vogtherr. A very rare type of modular sofa with amazing black and green alligator print fabric. The sofa consists out of sixteen seating elements and one ottoman. It also includes two movable trays with aluminium inserts.
The frames of the elements are produced in dark brown moulded plastic and have grips in the backs perfect for rearranging the parts of the sofa easily. This piece really is an eye catcher as a large sofa when using all elements, but there is also the option to arrange the elements in smaller groups of sitting areas in a space.
Please note that the measurements mentioned are the average size of one element. The total length of all pieces put together as a sofa is approximately 545 cm.
