Élan Curved Sofa by Pierre Salagnac

Year: 2025
Designed for the Creation Grant awarded by the Grands Ateliers de France and the CARIS Foundation, this work is the result of a collaboration between Maison Jouffre and Maison Salagnac, who joined forces to create a sofa extending the Élan collection.
This piece, over two meters wide, combines their respective expertise: a base in 24-carat gold-plated bronze and a seat in mohair velvet.

Pierre Salagnac is a master bronzesmith, sculptor, and designer. As a graduate of the famous Ecole Boulle in Paris, he was able to learn in-depth the three specific skills that make up the age-old craft of working bronze into beautiful artifacts: mounting, turning, and chiseling. After twenty years spent directing the finest French bronze workshops, Pierre Salagnac is now thriving within his own studio and is, at last, devoting himself to his art as a craftsman-sculptor making metal bloom into life.
