About the Item

The EOS-1 sofa is meticulously handmade to order in France by our upholsterer, following traditional techniques highlighting artisanal quality and attention to detail. The version shown on the first two images is covered with a Holland Sherry - Brunshwick fabric and paired with custom brushed aluminum feet. The sofa is upholstered in a curated selection of fabrics from Dedar Milano, Holland Sherry, Nobilis, and Kvadrat, adding both texture and elegance to its design. We also offer the option to cover the EOS-1 in a fabric of your choice. The feet are available in various oak finishes, lacquered color, brass and brushed aluminum options also available upon request. The EOS-1 Sofa is offered in four sizes: L220cm, L245cm, L280cm, and L340cm, with custom dimensions available to suit specific project requirements. Exclusively available through our gallery, each piece is signed and numbered. About Galerie signé : Created 2021 and located in the heart of Saint-Germain des Prés in Paris, signé is a contemporary design gallery whose mission is to represent designers and artists, and to produce their creations. signé aims to promote a perspective over the design fields and their surrounding territories. About Emmanuel Outy : A keen draftsman, Emmanuel Outy ( Born 1981) spent his childhood between Brittany and the French Riviera, in a family - notably his grandfather - that was highly attuned to the arts. Soon after graduating from LISAA Rennes in 2003, this architect and designer, who greatly admires Auguste Perret, Adolf Loos and Jean Prouvé, as well as Japanese archtecture and the work of the Bouroullec brothers, was featured at the Maison Objet trade fair and joined Eric Gizard’s design agency. During the highly formative ten years he spent with Eric Gizard, Emmanuel Outy learned about every aspect involved in the creation of prestigious worksites, both in France and abroad. These included projects for private homes, hotels, luxury boutiques and tapestries for the French Mobilier National. It was an exciting experience on the fluidity among spaces and furniture / objects and about ongoing dialogues with artisans and manufacturers - one that he has continued solo since 2012 after launching his own studio. While Emmanuel Outy admittedly “cultivates humility and discretion”, he has now stepped up ; after creating custom pieces for private clients for years, he is now about to unveil his very first collection, for signé. These are virtually “calligraphed” pieces, with precise curves, a quasi-monastic touch and unrivalled comfort, produced by exceptional master craftsmen - works that clearly and quietly stand out as sensual micro-architectures.
