Sizeable sofa that could easily seat four or more people. This sofa is simplistic, yet stylish in its design. Due to the overall black color of the leatherette upholstery, the sofa radiates smoothness and underlines the streamlined design. Therefore, it enhances the straight, sharp lines of the seat. Tufted details decorate the seating, and brings dynamic lines that emphasize the softness of the cushions. The sofa is standing on small steel legs, leaving an open space underneath the sofa and therefore creates a light appearance.
Please note that we advise reupholstery before use. This item might contain some threadbare upholstery with loose seams and small stains. Reupholstery can be done before shipping by our experienced craftsmen and -women in our own in-house restoration atelier. With high attention for the original, they make sure every piece contains its value and is ready for the many years to come. We kindly ask you to contact our design experts for further information about the endless possibilities our restoration and upholstery atelier has to offer. Of course, a locally organized reupholstery is possible as well.

This mid-century modern sofa is designed by the acclaimed Austrian furniture designer Johannes Spalt. The design is characterized by a solid construction based on sharp lines and angular shapes noticeable in the body of the seat and the chromed steel base, underlining the clear structured design. The metal legs elevate the seat in a graceful way, which establish an open and more transparent look to the whole unit. The tufted seat with buttons is upholstered in black leather. As outcome, this creates more visual interest and adds a graphical touch to the quite simplistic design. By only one hand movement the 'Constance' transforms from a comfortable sofa to daybed. A very elegant and also nifty technique.
