A very good looking and super comfortable sofa, this piece has a cushioned and padded back for extra support, its been hand stitched in a cross formation which as mentioned is an inspiration taken from the fluted Mustang car seats.
I've never actually seen another of these sofas before, its quite unique, most likely it was a custom commission, what I can say is its been made with no expense spared, the legs are solid to the frame, they have been nicely carved with bevelled strips on the edges, the arms are totally over the top by design, usually you have one layer of piping or studding, these have two layers of piping, two rows of antique stunning and one long line of folded leather, this would have taken maybe 50 times longer to make than a single row of piping, each piece of leather would have been cut folded and fastened by hand
Condition wise my leather polishers have stripped the old colour out, they have then hand dyed the piece six times, antiqued it, sealed it, waxed down and finally polished it, the end result is a piece that comes the original age and use but looks retail ready

Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
