About the Item
An Italian pair of carved wood and upholstered sofas from the early 20th century. These antique sofas from Italy each have linier top crest rails with carved flower heads and foliate accents within the wood trim atop the padded and upholstered back rests. The wooden arm rests have shell carved accents where they meet the back, and continue the straight line theme of the crest, terminating into volute knuckles with flower carved accents on either side. The skirt has a horizontal reed carved design, with rosettes atop each of the front legs. The sofas are raised upon three nicely turned legs at front, and three sabre legs at rear, for a total of six legs. The wood has an older buttery/yellow finish with gold accent trim. The upholstery about the backrest and seat are in need of a refresher- the perfect opportunity to customize these pieces to suit your own style! This pair of early 20th century Italian sofa benches are approximately 5.25 feet in length each, and will make a wonderful seating arrangement for your home.
