Kho Liang Ie for Artifort, sofas model 'C683', fabric, coated steel, The Netherlands, design 1968
A classic midcentury sofa designed by Indonesian-Dutch designer Kho Liang Ie (1927-1975). A well-made sofa with a modern layout, conceived by using only geometric shapes. The sofa is upholstered in a black fabric with tufted lines that add a graphic and textured surface to the front. The seat rests on black metal frames, of which the style is simple and understated, where clear, sharp lines are allowed to emerge in the design.
Kindly note that these sofas are in need of new fabric. Reupholstery is possible before shipping by our experienced craftsman and -women in our own in-house restoration atelier. With high attention for the original, they make sure every piece retains its value and is ready for the many years to come. We kindly ask you to contact our design experts for further information about the endless possibilities our restoration and upholstery atelier has to offer. Of course, a locally organized reupholstery is possible as well.
