About the Item
A late 19th century German historicism 3-seater sofa. Made of walnut with upholstered seat and backrest.
Standing on a rectangular base with turned stud and bar connections, as well as gently curved armrests carved with acanthus leaf decoration. A total of 8 feet, of which the 4 front feet are designed as lion feet and connected with openwork carved aprons, in which a knight's helmet with protruding feather decoration can be recognised alongside flowers and leaves.
The upholstery has been renewed and is ready for a new cover. The grey velour cover is for illustrative purposes only.

Good authentic condition. The wood has a very nice warm patina. One carved side is missing from each of the lion's feet (see photos). The upholstery has been renewed true to the original with spring lacing (belted). Prepared for a new cover.
