About the Item

A beautiful outdoor "Amalfi" sofa designed by Mario Papperzini and manufactured by John Salterini in the 1960s. The sofa features wrought iron construction with hand tooled details, hand hammered ball finials, and woven lattice siding, seat and back. The construction is top tier, which is why these pieces are considered among the finest in outdoor and garden seating. The sofa retains the original forest green paint which makes this piece all the more special. The paint shows lots of imperfections, scratches, soft oxidation and patina, but that's what you want on one of these pieces, and it provides an absolutely striking, one-of-a-kind appeal. This design will never go out of style, and is ready for another 60 years of life. Aside from the obvious cosmetic patina and wear, this heavy duty piece is as strong and solid as day one, without any issues. For an additional cost, we can make custom cushions in any fabric of your choosing. If you're interested in additional pieces, check our inventory for other matching pieces from this set.
