About the Item

Northern Europe Biedermeier Birch Sofa with Ebonzied Wood details, Early 1900s. Simplified refinement, the early 1900s brought more robust styling but maintained the less adorned look. The refinement of the classic warm honey birch veneer with rounded back and arms. Ebonized wood leaf details on the arms. Upholstered back. Legs curl out. Upholstered in a black and off-white wide stripe, more recently, and in very good condition. Light wear to veneer, upholstery in excellent condition, some light scratches to tops of arms. 89.25" wide x 28.5" deep x 38.5" high x 18" seat height x 27" arm height (overall dims) 21.25" deep x 70" wide (interior dims) Provenance: Private Collection, East Hampton, New York
