About the Item
A Very Fine American Federal Period Carved Mahogany Sofa, circa 1810. Features a bowback frame with cross banding. Sloped arms lead to reeded supports in front of remarkable three-dimensional cubed and braided inlay. The sofa is supported by turned and reeded legs at the front and square tapered legs along the rear. The cross-banding along the back continues along the rear allowing the sofa to really stand out in any space. The sofa represents timeless design and is a great candidate for re-upholstery. Made in Boston, Massachusetts or Portsmouth, New Hampshire Circa 1810
