About the Item
Magnificent regency style sofa featuring flared or scrolled arms designed by Sally Sirkin Lewis for her J. Robert Scott line. The elegant sofa measures nearly 7.5 feet wide with an intentionally distressed oak frame. The case is reeded with a pickled or cerused finish to mimic age. The case is upholstered with a champagne toned shimmery silk style fabric. The generous seat is fitted with a deep, loose seat cushion that is tethered to the frame. The sofa is in exceptional, well preserved condition. The seat is very comfortable with excellent joinery and craftsmanship. The design is classic with an art deco inspiration having high end finishes and materials. Makers label under seat. The legs of the sofa are splayed in a neoclassical klismos inspired design with a dramatic profile. From an estate in San Francisco, California.
