About the Item

An innovative tête-à-tête de-sign by Randy R. Culler for Thayer Coggin, Inc. This is Thayer Coggin’s newfangled version of a victorian courting settee. The two curves allow the seated pair to face each other rather than sit side by side. Most of them were pretty uncomfortable and of course their shape was fixed. Culler’s updated design turns a settee in a tête-à-tête by swiveling one of the backrests, giving his sofa versatility. The frame can be shifted into two other positions to create a traditional two-person sofa or a chaise lounge. His version is more practical but it’s also more comfortable than the 19th century ones. Completely restored, freshly reupholstered in a soft blue performance velvet, this combination of color and curves is as elegant as it gets. Wonderfully shaped form, graceful curves just divine!
