About the Item

A rare two-seater sofa designed by Boris Hála for TON in 1986, representing the clean lines and enduring sophistication of Czech modernist design. The originl of this model was confirmed to us by TON company. They informed us that the model was named Eduard and was awarded a first price of the furniture design in 1984. Crafted from solid walnut, the sofa showcases elegant joinery, sculptural armrests, and a warm natural grain that has been partially professionally restored to highlight its original beauty. The seat is constructed with woven leather straps supporting two generously padded leather cushions, offering a distinctive interplay of structure and softness. Upholstered in deep, dark brown leather with a supple patina, the sofa balances visual richness with exceptional comfort. Original manufacturer label remains intact. The sofa shows some minor patina wear on one armrest, adding to its vintage character. One of the back cushions has been professionally restored due to a previous scratch. This is on the back of the cushion, so it is not visible. A collector’s piece with timeless appeal, this compact sofa is ideal for both refined living spaces and design-forward interiors. We also have a set of armchairs from this set available. See all our listings.
