About the Item

A Wood Hogan sofa with a disciplined elegance for the special home. From a branch of the family of the Queen Mother of England came the original of this magnificent Hepplewhite sofa which stood in the ancestral home of the Bowes-Daley family in Athenny, County Galway, Ireland. This is the finest sofa offered in the Wood Hogan collection. The sophisticated serpentine shaped Mahogany frame is hand carved with tiny "pea" carving and delicate foliage. Down feather buttoned cushion. Resting on carved Mahogany front square tapered legs with spade foot and back legs splayed. Upholstered in a proper traditional manner using natural materials. Frame construction is kiln-dried Maple, double doweled and glued with screwed and glue corners blocks for substantial strength. Additional sofas can be ordered on a "customer own material" (COM) basis. Customers would need to provide 12 yards of 50" plain fabric. Large repeats will require additional fabric. 8 to 10 week delivery once material has been received. Wood Hogan, established 95 years ago, has built an enduring reputation as the premier purveyor of high-end traditional furniture for the design trade.
