About the Item

One-of-a-Kind Commissioned Four-Seat Vintage Sofa by Giancarlo Pozzo — Italy, 1951. This exceptional, one-of-a-kind four-seat sofa was designed in 1951 by architect Giancarlo Pozzo for his client Luciano Migliarini, as part of a private commission to renovate the Migliarini family residence in Udine, Italy (A city in northern Italy, known for its refined architecture, rich artistic heritage, and longstanding tradition of craftsmanship and design.) Conceived as a bespoke piece for the project, the sofa is a rare example of Italian mid-century design at the highest level of craftsmanship. The sofa features a finely crafted wooden structure in beautifully preserved vintage condition, exhibiting a warm, natural patina. Its elegant geometric profile rests on a painted gold iron base, adding subtle contrast to the richness of the wood. The seating has been newly upholstered in imported ivory bouclé fabric, chosen for both its refined texture and durability. The fixed seat and back frames are complemented by generously proportioned goose down cushions, offering exceptional comfort while preserving the clean architectural lines. With its documented provenance, original design intent, and meticulous artisanal construction, this piece stands as both a functional work of art and a collectible investment. It is presented in perfect condition, with all original structural elements intact and a vintage surface patina that speaks to its history. Suitable for a significant interior or private collection, this sofa embodies the enduring appeal of bespoke Italian design.
