About the Item
Decorate a den, living room or master bedroom with this elegant antique stool. Crafted in Versailles France circa 1870 and rectangular in shape, the elegant ottoman stands on tapered legs decorated with hand carved rosette medallions at the shoulders, and ending with square feet. The bench are further embellished with an intricate curved stretcher at the bottom decorated with acanthus leaf motif in the center. The seating resting on a heavily carved apron, is upholstered with a colorful hand woven Aubusson tapestry of floral and leaf motifs in the soft green, red and beige palette. The large stool is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich gilt patinated finish. Versatile, the stool could be placed in any room for a formal royal or chateau look!

This elegant antique fruitwood stool was crafted in Southern France, circa 1880. The square seat features four scrolled legs with hand carved acanthus leaves and an elaborate stretcher. The seat has been reupholstered with a colorful, 18th Century verdure tapestry from Aubusson, which is decorated with foliage and tree decor. The piece is in excellent condition and has a rich walnut patina and strong colors in the green, beige and blue palette.
