About the Item

Michael van Beuren was an American designer who attended Germany's prestigious Bauhaus school and went on to become the most prolific furniture designer in Mexico during the 20th century. His goal was to create modern furniture, expertly crafted with an international style that could be infused with tenets of local craft traditions and indigenous materials. His furniture lines became a staple of modern interior design in Mexico. Working directly with the van Beuren family, we produce these beautiful re-editions with the same authentic handcrafted elements of the original pieces in our factory in Cuernavaca, Mexico. The San Miguelito Counter Stool is made in solid wood with handwoven palm cord stretches and leather-wrapped ribs.
