Lovely vintage mid-century modern Samsonite black vinyl faux leather
chrome bar or counter stools set of 3. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. We haven’t found any outstanding flaws. Please see photos and zoom in for details. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa, 1970’s.
Not one, not two, but THREE sensational Samsonite stools!! This is a fabulous set of three vintage Samsonite counter height or bar height stools comprised of a black 4 prong base and shaft and a scoop shaped seat and curved back wearing black faux leather. They swivel, they adjust, they have a fabulous chrome foot ring, and it adjusts too! Simple, comfortable, and versatile! What more could you need or want? These are the perfect stool for your kitchen, bar, or rec room whether you live in a mid-century modern home, an industrial loft, a modern country, or even a mountain ranch. So, there you have it, Comfort… Check! Versatility… Check! Impeccable style… Check!! This triple treat of spectacular seating has all of the boxes checked!!
Samsonite, best known for their luggage, was founded in Denver in 1910 by Jesse Shwayder. Jesse was born and raised in the late 19th century American West but found himself in his 20’s in New York selling luggage for the Seward Trunk and Bag Company. However, he had a dream. A dream of going home along with a dream of owning his own company. He did just that. That company was first named Shwayder Trunk Manufacturing Company. However, its name was changed in 1965 to Samsonite honoring its best-selling product. Jesse Shwayder named the line as such for its incredible strength which he likened to the Biblical character, Samson. The first 60-70 plus years Samsonite was operated by the Shwayder family and went through many expansions and changes. One of those expansions was into the furniture market. But by the 1970s they were bought out by the Beatrice umbrella. Again, going though many expansions and changes and……cutbacks too and changing hands many times. After all those years, the luggage portion of Samsonite is back in Denver operating from their original location. And the furniture portion is operating as it did from its beginning in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Samsonite Corporation and Samsonite Furniture are now separate companies.

Awesome vintage Industrial medical or dental barstools by A-Dec with steel blue faux leather and adjustable height & swivel, set of 5. Comprised of chrome arm/seat & lower base shaft, cast aluminum ring footrest & 5 prong base on black & gray plastic casters. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that these are vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear even if it has been redone, restored, or refinished. Specifically, the knobs on the backs slightly differ in style, one of the seats has a little nick in the vinyl, & there is slight fading on the vinyl. We did polish the aluminum legs to some extent but left some patina. Please see photos and zoom in for details. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa, Late 20th Century.

Maurice Villency began designing in the 1950’s at his own furniture loft in Greenwich Village, New York. He was born in Glasgow Scotland, the son of a cabinet maker and at the age of 19 he moved to the United States with his family and introduced Scandinavian Modern furniture with one of his first successes being a sectional.
