A very good looking collectable and rare stool, it is just under 200 years old from new, made in the William IV era as mentioned using period Rosewood, the piece has been wonderfully preserved and is now ready to serve its new owners
Its to large to be a footstool really unless you accompanied it with a tall wingback armchair, it is 41cm high which is the normal seat height for a club armchair and usually footstools are slightly lower than chair seat heights, this is more of a Piano bench seat or perhaps an occasional seat
As mentioned this piece is fully restored, it has been stripped down to the frame and totally rebuilt, the upholstery is fully aniline Italian cattle hide leather, this was newly upholstered, fully aniline leather is plain which is significantly more expensive that pretreated leather, the hide was then hand dyed six times, antiqued, sealed waxed down and polished, all the upholstery is held in place with hand tacked brass studs to the top, this is quite literally the finest quality stool available for sale anywhere in the world today

Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
