About the Item

Arco Stool by Gabriela Campos Dimensions: D 45 x W 60 x H 62 cm. Materials: Freijó wood with imbuia finish and hand-painted fabric. The essence of this capsule of 4 pieces is a dialog between the Art Déco movement and the indigenous graphics of the Assurini people from the Upper Xingu region of the Amazon. A contemporary look at ancestral tradition, using the geometric aesthetics of the art movement and the application of hand-painted fabric, by Assurini women. Through this union we created a unique visual identity that celebrates our cultural and creative diversity. ESTÚDIO MAIS ALMA moves toward the authentic and the unique, whether in the subtle observation of nature's forms and contours, or in the inexhaustible source of inspiration that is the world of art. Mais Alma is a design studio BASED in Rio de Janeiro, founded by architect and designer Gabriela Campos. Her work has a contemporary and welcoming approach: a comfortable and timeless aesthetic that combines warm materials and clean lines, with soft palettes and fine details.

Assento Stool by Macheia
Located in Geneve, CH
Assento Stool by Macheia Handmade In Portugal. Dimensions: D 55 x W 75 x H 40 cm. Materials: Natural dried bulrush and galvanized iron. Inspired by Tanho, the most iconic piece of the Bunho technique, Assento is a hybrid between a sitting stool and a side table. The bulrush spiral extends into a metal arc that embraces the wheel into the metal structure. The low seat’s organic shape represents a release from the spiraling motion of the wheel. The Collection zooms in the Bunho technique - a unique portuguese basketry technique that shapes the natural fiber Bulrush (Schoenoplectrus Palla), into a intricate mesh of knots and stitches. Nowadays, the Bunho technique is kept by the hands and know-how of only two artisans in Europe, One of them is Manuel Ferreira...

Her work incorporates unconventional design techniques that stretch far from traditional craftsmanship. Exploring new techniques and material driven processes such as metal forming and non-traditional upholstery, she builds on similar profiles and repetitive patterns in the aim of creating something timeless. Jaclyn’s work has been published in Arcipelago, Modern House, Dezeen, Vogue and Luncheon magazine. Represented by The Radford Gallery & Fels World gallery in London UK.
