About the Item
This half-octagon shaped stool is a modern take on the demilune vanity stool. Octagon-shaped legs are cnc-milled out of square aluminum solid bar, and hand brushed and anodized in satin black. Legs are connected via custom milled aluminum braces and leather wrapped wood top is connected to the aluminum base at the underside. Made originally for executive restroom of Cummins Engine Company in Columbus, Indiana with inspiration coming from octagon-shaped pillars found throughout Kevin Roche designed corporate headquarters.

Jonathan Nesci
Jonathan is a furniture and exhibition designer based in Columbus who works with a variety of producers in the Midwest that use conventional and digital fabrication processes to execute his designs in a myriad of materials and finishes. In 2009, "Wallpaper" honored Jonathan with a Design Award for Best Use Of Material for his “Library Bookcase,” a wall-mounted shelf in polished aluminum that was recently added to the permanent collection of the Indianapolis Museum of Art.
