About the Item

A simple vernacular oak stool of joint construction with a thick block top complemented with an oval recess carry handle. Raised on four stout legs united with parallel stretchers. Strong and sturdy with no rocks or wobbles, with excellent colour and patina throughout. This versatile stool would make a wonderful bedside table for a smaller space or an assistant in the kitchen to reach the tall cupboards! English, circa 1780.
