About the Item

A nifty, 19th century piano stool made in France with adjustable height. The top cushion is upholstered in a weathered, cut-velvet of chevron design in autumnal tones that compliments the dark oak frame. Brass nailheads trace the circumference between the seat and the wood base. The center column of the stool has a hidden steel screw press used to raise and lower the seat height, making this a versatile antique for modern times. Carved and turned legs form an elaborate X-shaped stretcher with a decorative center shaft hiding the metal screw.
